About Us
Since 1997 the Say It Loud! Readers and Writers provided an opportunity for youth ages 10-18 to participate in activities designed to enhance their appreciation for literature as a tool for personal, educational and career development. Over 3000 youth and adults have participated in numerous workshops and lectures at various venues sponsored by Say It Loud!. The program has featured noted individuals such Haki R. Madhubuti, Dr. Tony Medina, Kenny Carroll, Quraysh Ali Lansana, Opal Moore, Lita Hooper, Eugene Redmond, Dr. Beverly Guy-Sheftall, Kevin Powell, Patrice Gaines and others.(Photo above) Dr. Randall Horton, New Haven University, English professor facilitates a writing workshop during the Better Community Developers summer literary arts program.
